Getting Started With Herbs

 

Grow your own fresh herbs this year. Learn which herbs are best planted from seed and those from plants. Lots of hand-outs for future reference. There will be plants for sale.

Herb Garden Design

 

Learn how to design your own special herb garden, either as a part of an existing perennial bed or on its own. Many aspects of design will be considered: purpose of garden, placement, structures, paths etc.

There will be handouts for future reference.

Herb Sale

 

This is your chance to get all your herbplants and get advice from the grower. There will be new plants as well as field divisions. Request an order form at tansy@nb.sympatico.ca and see what will be available.

Country Gardens Perennial Swap and Sale

Albert County women will share plant divisions from their perennial beds at Tansy Lane Herb Farm in a swap and sale. This is a great chance to extend your plant varieties and share with others. Info at www.tansylane.com or 734-3006

There is a lot of buzz about lavender these days. Come find out how to grow lavender or the many ways it can be used. Discussion will include using lavender in drinks, cookies, cakes, seasonings etc. as well as ways to use it in the home.

Recipes will be available and there will be plants for sale.

Edible Flowers

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about edible flowers that you may already be growing but don't know how to us them. Discussion will include how to use these flowers as garnishes, in salads and to create stunning cakes, cookies and desserts. Recipes will be available and there will be plants will be for sale..

Composting with Worms

This is the ideal composting method for apartments or if you hate the trip to the composter on rainy days. A bin of worms will compost all your vegetable waste efficiently with little work on your part. Come learn all about these intriguing creatures.
