It began with a dream. A dream of wandering through
beds of thyme, experiencing the romance of a formal Shakespearean garden and relearning
the connection our forefathers had with the land as we release all our senses
to the herbs of a time past. There was a wish as well. A wish to share this love
of the herbs of our present and our past with others. And that our connection
to the land would never be lost. Welcome to Tansy Lane Herb Farm.
We
have now begun to fulfill our dream at our peaceful century farm setting.
In
the summer of 2001 we started the planting of our professionally designed herb
beds. Over time, theme beds of thyme, medicinal, and culinary herbs will lead
to a formal Shakespearean garden. It will take "thyme", so come watch us grow.
Visit our quaint shop, located in our 1870's farmhouse, where herbal products
made by our family are available. Sample our wonderful
selection of food products including herbal jellies, herbal jams, herbal honey,
and vinegars.
Also, try our special line
of personal care products. These include herbal healing creams, salves, bath oils,
massage oils, baby products, lip balms, powders, spritzers, and much more.
And
in addition to all that, browse through our unique line of gift items which include
herbal wreaths, beeswax candles, and gift baskets and boxes.
All
products in our shop are made by our family, Carole (owner), John (husband, hired
hand, so he says!), and Richard (brother and beekeeper). Brother Richard has
since retired and living the good life but we will still have lavender and rose
honey.
